With the Tokyo 2020 competition play just hours away and a mass absence of fans, we have been asked by many, “how and where can I watch hockey at the Olympics?”. We have researched and tried to answer that questions as best as we can below.

If you are UK based, Eurosport has launched seven new channels ahead of the broadcaster’s comprehensive coverage of the Olympic Games.
The pop-up channels – available via Sky, Virgin Media and BT TV – will be dedicated destinations for fans of a particular sport, with specific channels earmarked for the likes of football, tennis and basketball.
Tokyo 2020 is the first Olympics where Eurosport owners Discovery has the overall broadcast rights in the UK, with the BBC sub-licensing rights for broadcast on BBC One, BBC Two and a single red button stream. With over 50 disciplines in 32 sports, hockey coverage on the BBC will be minimal unless either GB side reaches the quarter-final stage.
Eurosport 3 to Eurosport 9 can be found on Sky channels 983 to 989, BT channels 401 to 407 and Virgin channels 537 to 543.
Additional live streams will also be available through the discovery+ streaming service. Eurosport 5 will be the dedicated ‘Team Sports’ channel. However, hockey will not feature on that channel until the quarter-final stage, meaning no hockey is free to view until August 1st via Eurosport.
All hockey at the Tokyo Olympics will be streamed live via subscription with Discovery Plus. You can watch Every Unmissable Moment of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 for just £6.99 per month, which can be cancelled anytime, subscribe here
