Kiwi four land a royal victory


EDEGEM – 3 March 2020 – Olivia Merry and Brooke Neal are joining our first Ladies’ team in the season 2020-2021.

In addition, Cam Hayde and Warren Wild will be reinforcing our first Men’s team next season.

Preparations for the next hockey season are gaining momentum at Royal Victory Hockey Club. After having completed our major infrastructure project, with two brand new water pitches and a new clubhouse, the Belgian club is now focussing on its top Ladies’ and Men’s teams.

Victory is proud to announce that two internationally renowned female hockey stars, Olivia Merry and Brooke Neal of New Zealand, have embraced its sports project and will be active on the Edegem, Antwerp pitches next season.

Attacking power with Olivia Merry

Olivia Merry will increase Victory’s attacking power significantly. Olivia joined New Zealand’s Black Sticks in 2014 and has been a prolific goal scorer for the number four on the FIH’s female rankings. A nominee for the 2020 Female FIH Hockey Stars, Olivia is burning to shine in the remaining FIH Pro League games and is looking forward to the Tokyo Olympics with her teammates. After the Summer Games, she will be moving to Edegem, Antwerp to take charge of our ladies’ attacking line-up

A wall called Brooke Neal

Brooke Neal has opted for second adventure in Belgium, having played with Royal Antwerp HC before. She joined the Black Sticks in 2013, where she has proven herself as a reliable and key defender. Brooke, too, is keen to keep on shining in the FIH Pro League and to show her skills in the Olympics. She’ll be joining our first Ladies team straight after Tokyo. Brooke is a reputed coach in mental and social well-being. She will support our club’s youth teams in this regard

Cam Hayde and Warren Wild are joining our first Men’s Team

Victory is equally proud to announce that Kiwis Cam Hayde and Warren Wild are joining our first men’s Team next season.
Cam is a dynamic and targeted attacker, who also played with R Antwerp HC. Warren is a versatile and efficient midfielder. Their reputation as solid players in their home country will add experience and vista to our team
